McCrory Construction’s Chris Corbett Earns National Design-Build Credential

by Joan Krause on June 18, 2026

Chris Corbett, Senior Preconstruction Manager for McCrory Construction, has earned the prestigious Designated Design-Build Professional® (DBIA®) certification. This sought-after construction industry credential requires successful completion of the Design-Build Institute of America’s comprehensive “gold standard” education, training and certification testing program, including a rigorous exam. Substantial, documented project experience in design-build project delivery is a prerequisite.

“Chris has extensive design-build experience across multiple market sectors, including industrial, hospitality, commercial and more recently, national retail projects. This proficiency strengthens the depth of expertise McCrory brings to clients seeking preconstruction design assistance,” said Larry Kingery, Vice President, Preconstruction Services.

According to the Design-Build Institute of America, DBIA certification provides the only measurable standard to evaluate a professional’s understanding of Design-Build Done Right® – key best practices proven to help clients deliver projects on time and successfully.

Corbett’s construction career spans more than 25 years, the past 10 with McCrory. He started with McCrory in project management, moving into a preconstruction role several years later. Corbett holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

About McCrory Construction – McCrory Construction, headquartered in Columbia, S.C., with an additional office in Greenville, S.C., is a full-service general contractor that has operated continuously since 1918.
