Carolinas AGC on How Contractors Can Help Area Hospitals

by Leslie B. Clark, VP of Operations, Carolinas AGC on March 19, 2020

Earlier this week, President Trump asked for Contractors to please send ANY AVAILABLE Masks to the hospitals. See below for ways contractors can help in South Carolina and North Carolina.

Information for South Carolina

Carolinas AGC staff reached out to the SC Hospital Association to confirm the need. The Hospital Association called it “a dire need” and asked for any help our members could provide to help fill this need.

If any Contractors have ANY masks, not just N95 masks, they are willing and able to part with, the hospitals will gladly take them. If contractors want to deliver them directly to your local hospital that is great. Initially, the request was for N95 masks, but at this time, ANY masks will do.

However, if you would prefer not to go into the hospitals at this time, you can mail them to John Williams at the Hospital Association. They will distribute them to the hospitals in the state with the highest need.  They are especially concerned with making sure the hospitals in the rural areas can receive some of these masks.

John’s mailing address is below:

John Williams

SC Hospital Association

1000 Center Point Road

Columbia, SC 29210

If you donate masks, please let Leslie Clark know how many and to whom you sent them, either a local hospital or mailed directly to the Hospital Association. Leslie can be reached at LClark@carolinasagc.org. The Hospital Association would like to keep a running count on how many are donated and from whom. Thank you, in advance, for stepping up and helping fill this need.

Information for North Carolina

In NC we are being asked to take the masks to your local hospital and ask for the Materials Manager.  Please tell the hospital representative the name of the company and how many you are delivering so they (the NC Hospital Association) can recognize you.  Also, please send an e-mail to bbailey@carolinasagc.org and give her the same information.  Thank you!
