DPR Construction Named to 2026 Best Workplaces in Construction List
Great Place To Work® and Fortune have named DPR Construction, a forward-thinking, self-performing builder, to the 2026 Fortune Best Workplaces in Construction™ list for the first time, ranking it No. 8 in the large company category.
This recognition comes at the start of Careers in Construction Month, which brings added attention to the range of career opportunities across the industry. The need to attract and develop the next generation of builders remains significant. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects about 587,000 openings in construction and extraction occupations each year from 2025 to 2035, driven by industry growth and the need to replace workers who leave these occupations.
DPR’s investment in long-term career development is one of the ways that the company is working to attract and retain talent. Employees have opportunities to gain experience working in different parts of the business and to pursue career paths based on their skills and interests. This may include transitioning between field and office roles, expanding into new areas of expertise, or taking on greater leadership responsibilities over time.
“Construction offers more than a job. It provides the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term career,” said George Pfeffer, DPR Construction CEO and Leadership Team member. “There isn’t just one path to success at DPR. Our culture encourages teammates to share their ideas and experiences, learn from one another and build connections across the company. We are committed to helping our people discover where their talents fit best as they take on new challenges throughout their careers.”
One example of this in action for people early in their careers is DPR’s Builder Development Program, which provides 18 months of experience across different aspects of project delivery. Participants gain exposure to the work while developing technical knowledge and a broader understanding of where a career in construction can lead.
The Best Workplaces in Construction award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 64,000 employees at Great Place To Work Certified™ companies in the construction industry. Survey responses reflect a comprehensive picture of the workplace experience. Honorees were selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for employees regardless of job role, work status, or other demographic factors.
Earlier this year, 97% of DPR employees surveyed said the company is a great place to work and DPR was named to the PEOPLE® Companies that Care list. Learn more about career opportunities at DPR at dpr.com/careers.
