“Fireside Chat” with Patrice Gilmore, National Supplier Diversity Lead, DPR Construction

Patrice Gilmore, CCA, is the latest Triangle-area woman to be honored by Chix Dig It – Celebrating Women in Construction, a Raleigh-based non-profit dedicated to attracting the best and brightest women to the architectural, design and construction field – professional and craft.

GroundBreak Carolinas is pleased to present this “Fireside Chat” with Patrice, part of the “Evolving Women in AEC” series of spotlights featured on Chix Dig It’s all-new website, chixdigit.rocks.

BACKGROUND

Patrice spent the first 15 years of her Construction Management career working at one of the largest international construction management firms in the world.  In the last 20 years, she has become known for her ability to provide superior service in a variety of arenas – construction, project management, consulting, diversity, and business development.

In 2019, Patrice joined DPR Construction as Diversity & Inclusion Lead for the Southeast Region.  She is now the National Supplier Diversity Lead for DPR Construction and leads all supplier diversity efforts with trade partners, professional service providers, suppliers, and vendors across the business.

Passionate about providing small and minority businesses equal access to opportunities, Patrice’s work has been recognized with with the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce Circle of Influence Diversity Award and the NC Department of Administration Office of Historically Underutilized Business Industry / Agency Individual Award. Patrice’s work in diversity has been recognized by various state and local agencies.

​After the passing of her maternal grandmother in 2008, Patrice developed a personal interest in Hospice and formed Milestone Community Foundation, a non-profit focused on supporting the Hospice mission.

What was your first job? Drive-thru cashier at Wendy’s.

Do you collect anything?  Decanters and cookbooks from travel destinations.
