RMF Engineering today announced the election of division manager Greg Carnathan to the firm’s board of directors along with three new stockholder additions: Jonathan Eveleth, Avery Monroe, and Don Zimmerman.

Greg Carnathan, PE, CEM, LEED AP, division manager at RMF, joined the firm’s North Carolina infrastructure design team more than 20 years ago. He currently leads the group, including more than 20 engineering staff who comprise industry-leading expertise in central heating and cooling design, underground thermal utility distribution, and medium voltage power systems. Carnathan is actively engaged in chiller plant, boiler plant, combined heat, and power thermal utility distribution projects with responsibilities including planning, strategic engineering solution development, and quality control. He is also the lead facilitator of RMF’s in-house project management team.
Jonathan Eveleth, PE, CEM, LEED AP, joined RMF nearly a decade ago and is currently a mechanical engineer and project manager who specializes in the analysis, design, and construction of complex infrastructure systems serving educational, industrial, healthcare, and commercial facilities. He is most specialized in the areas of thermal utilities including steam and chilled water. Eveleth’s background as a design-build contractor gives him a unique perspective on the need for high quality documents with a focus on constructability.
Avery Monroe, PE, LEED AP, division manager at RMF, is a 30-plus-year veteran of the architecture and engineering industry. After joining RMF in 2001, he became a key leader in the creation of successful engineering teams. Monroe’s career has focused on the design, analysis and construction administration of HVAC, and plumbing and fire protection systems serving educational, healthcare, laboratory, military and commercial facilities. His specialization in the design of higher education and healthcare facilities throughout his career has allowed him to offer clients innovative and highly-informed expertise. In his role at RMF, Monroe routinely utilizes sustainable design principles on facilities as well as documenting these principles in accordance with LEED and the state of North Carolina.
Don Zimmerman, PE, CEM, at RMF in South Carolina has nearly 30 years’ experience with RMF and in the fields of design, engineering and management of a wide range of mechanical engineering projects. The majority of his experience has involved large utility infrastructure projects, including new and retrofitted central power plant projects and utility distribution systems for large government, institutional, and health care facilities. Zimmerman’s utility experience includes geothermal heating and cooling, as well as biomass applications. He has also designed several other types of mechanical systems including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, fuel oil, control, and several types of specialized systems.
