SeamonWhiteside Celebrates New Permanent Home for Raleigh Office in Cary, Driving Regional Job Growth and Community Development

by GroundBreak Carolinas on October 15, 2026

SeamonWhiteside (SW+), a full-service site design firm with offices throughout the Carolinas, announced it is opening a permanent home for its Raleigh office at 1225 Crescent Green, Suite 240, in Cary, North Carolina. The firm celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Town of Cary followed by a grand-opening event.

Since establishing its Raleigh team in 2024, SW+ has focused on building relationships and becoming part of the communities it serves. Moving from a shared workspace to a permanent office is the next step in that commitment, giving the established team a dedicated place to host clients and project partners, review plans together, and collaborate on design and engineering questions. It also gives SW+ room to grow in a central location to serve mid and eastern North Carolina and support the schools, housing, businesses, and public spaces that serve Triangle communities.

“We’re excited to have a permanent home in Cary and a place where we can bring our team, clients, and project partners together,” said Paul H. Medling, PLA, landscape architecture team leader in Raleigh. “We’ve put a lot of care into building relationships here, and this office reflects our commitment to the Triangle. We look forward to continuing that work and being part of this community for years to come.”

The Raleigh team brings together landscape architecture and civil engineering expertise under one roof:

Paul H. Medling, PLA, landscape architecture team leader
Allen Forrester, PE, civil engineering team leader
Ryan Parker, PE, senior civil engineering team leader
Jordan McLaughlin, PLA, landscape architecture project manager
Teara Herrera, land planner III
Mati Wilson, civil designer  II
Morgan Held, PE, civil engineering project manager

Since 2024, the team has built a portfolio across education, multifamily housing, industrial, commercial, and community-based developments in the Raleigh-Durham area, establishing relationships with owners, architects, contractors, and reviewing agencies. Projects include the Garner Station affordable multifamily community and Magellan Charter School K-2 campus expansion in Raleigh, the Mt. Moriah II multifamily community in Durham, and Falls Lake Industrial Park in Butner.

Raleigh clients also have access to the full strength of SW+ across the Carolinas, including master planning, surveying, and water resources. For K-12 work, that means pairing North Carolina relationships with SW+’s extensive school experience in South Carolina. For industrial development, it means drawing on firmwide experience in site selection, grant funding, infrastructure planning, and economic development to help communities prepare and position sites for prospective users.

“There’s so much energy and progress in the Raleigh community, and we’re excited to be part of it,” said Russ Seamon, president of SW+. “The Triangle continues to grow and evolve, creating incredible opportunities for our people and our firm. As SW+ grows, we’re especially excited to bring our culture into new markets, partner with great clients to build strong local teams, leverage our regional presence, and continue elevating our talented people.”

SW+ Raleigh serves as a team mentor for civil engineering senior design projects at NC State, meeting weekly with student teams on real-world land development projects. The Raleigh location also sponsors and volunteers with Future City, a national STEM competition for middle and high school students that challenges teams to develop solutions to real-world urban issues. In 2027, SW+ Raleigh will sponsor the American Cancer Society’s North Carolina Discovery Ball, supporting the fight against cancer. These efforts align with the firm’s Green Square initiative, which supports education, wellness, and vibrant communities.

SW+ thanks the clients and project partners whose trust and relationships have helped establish its presence in the Triangle.
