Thomas & Hutton’s Lisa Muzekari and Hillary Aton Named SC Women in Business Honorees

Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a privately held and employee-owned professional services firm known for its award-winning culture and 80 years of shaping communities across the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Lisa Muzekari, PE, and Hillary Aton, PE, have been named 2026 SC Women in Business Honorees.

Presented by Integrated Media Publishing, the SC Women in Business Awards celebrate the achievements, leadership, and contributions of women making an impact across South Carolina.

Muzekari serves as T&H’s Vice President of Infrastructure, leading multidisciplinary teams across the Southeast. With more than 30 years of experience, she has delivered complex infrastructure and environmental projects that support major economic development initiatives, including Volvo Cars USA’s manufacturing facility. As the first female shareholder in the firm’s history, she is known for her leadership, mentorship, and commitment to sustainable, community-focused engineering solutions.

Aton serves as a Principal and Project Manager in T&H’s Charleston office, specializing in stormwater and flood mitigation solutions across South Carolina. With 14 years of experience, she leads complex infrastructure projects that improve resilience and protect communities from flooding. An active industry leader and current APWA Lowcountry Branch President, Aton has earned multiple Project of the Year awards and is known for her collaborative, community-focused approach to engineering.
