2019 Salute to the Design and Construction Industry Panelists
The 5th Annual Salute to the Design and Construction Industry will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at The Front Porch at Fluor Field in Greenville, SC. Sponsored by Elmore Goldsmith, Elliott Davis and McGriff Insurance, this year’s event feature a panel of experts that will discuss the construction economy in the Upstate of South Carolina.
John Lummus, Upstate SC Alliance
John Lummus serves as the President and CEO for the Upstate SC Alliance. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the direction of the Alliance as well as running the day-to-day operations.
Prior to his current position at the Upstate SC Alliance, Lummus served as vice president of Economic and Institutional Advancement at Tri-County Technical College, a position he held for eight years. Lummus also served as director of the Anderson County Office of Economic Development and worked to recruit new industry while supporting existing industry throughout the county.
A native of Anderson, John is a graduate of Wake Forest University and received his master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina (USC). He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Economic Developer’s School, USC’s Higher Education Leadership Program, and the national Executive Leadership Institute conducted by the League for Innovation in Community Colleges. In May of 2015, John received his SCCED (South Carolina Certified Economic Developer) certification.
Jon Chilton, BB&T
Jon began his career in 2002 with Grubb & Ellis / Wilson Kibler in Columbia, S.C. He served as both Property Manager and Commercial Broker at the firm. In 2006, Jon joined BB&T and entered the Leadership Development Program in January of 2007. From 2007-2016, Jon served BB&T in Columbia as a Commercial Relationship Manager and Regional Corporate Banker. In August of 2016, Jon was promoted as the Greenville Market President for BB&T. He has served BB&T nearly 13 years in the State of South Carolina.
Jon is responsible for the leading the Greenville Commercial Banking Team and working alongside all of the Greenville BB&T associates to fulfill our Mission “to create the best financial institution possible”.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate/Finance – Minor in Political Science, and is active in leadership roles with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Miracle Hill Ministries, Inc., and Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church.

Stuart Wyeth, Pintail Capital Partners
Stuart co-leads the growth and strategy of the firm. Stuart brings his creative energies to strategic planning, development programming, government approvals, impact evaluation and thought leadership around the firm’s development activities. He also assists the brokerage team on select assignments.
Prior to Pintail Capital Partners, Stuart spent more than ten years at a regional commercial real estate firm where he was a broker and principal. He completed over $156 million dollars of commercial real estate transactions in the major industry classifications including office, retail and industrial. Stuart worked with large institutional investors, owners, and developers; including Och-Ziff Real Estate and The Blackstone Group. Additionally, he completed lease transactions with Verizon, IBM, UPS, General Electric and many other national, regional and local tenants. Stuart was consistently a top-performing broker at his former company.
Stuart began his career in commercial real estate in 2005 as an intern during his final academic year at Clemson University. While at Clemson, he completed a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and served as president of the Graduate Student Government. Prior to Clemson, Stuart earned his BA degree in Economics from Denison University, where he completed a summer internship program with the San Diego Padres, assisting a development team in planning for a $4-billion-dollar infill urban mixed-use project revolving around a new baseball stadium – what is now PetCo Park.
Stuart serves on the local District Council Leadership Board for The Urban Land Institute. He has been actively involved in leadership roles with ULI since Clemson and he has completed the South Carolina Sustainable Leadership program. In addition to his industry activities, Stuart enjoys coaching high school lacrosse, volunteer activities, golf, bird hunting and working in the yard. Stuart lives in Greenville, SC with his wife, Mary Katherine, son, MacReynolds and their newest addition, Wallace.
Brian Gallagher, Graycor
Brian Gallagher serves as Vice President, Corporate Development for Graycor. Founded in 1921, Graycor is a leading provider of construction, maintenance and facilities services throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Brian provides strategic leadership to Graycor’s planning, marketing, business development, and public relations initiatives. He has over 25 years experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Prior to joining Graycor, he served in executive leadership positions with O’Neal, Inc. and Structural Group.
He holds a bachelor of science in marketing from Towson University and a masters degree in business administration from Loyola University in Maryland. He completed an executive education program in Competitive Advantage at Harvard University. He also has served as an adjunct professor at Loyola University in Maryland.
Brian is past chairman of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas, on the National Steering Committee, for the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program, the Clemson University Construction Science Management (CSM) Industry Advisory Board. He is also co-founder of GroundBreak Carolinas and iModular. He has authored three books: Leading With Marketing, Building Business With Social Media, and The Talent Pipeline. In addition to industry activities, Brian enjoys coaching soccer. He lives in Greenville, SC with his wife Lauren, daughter Emily, son Shane, and his three Labrador retrievers- Sonny, Thunder and Kona.
