2023: An Exciting Year for Construction in the Carolinas
Without a doubt, 2023 will be an interesting and exciting year for the construction industry in the Carolinas. Construction remains at a brisk pace with high levels of project activity in nearly all sectors. However, the backdrop of inflation, interest rates, workforce challenges, material availability and political uncertainty looms. At GroundBreak Carolinas we are committed to bringing you insights, ideas and perspectives from all aspects of the industry.
We are blessed to have so many great companies, organizations and associations engaged in the planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings, facilities and infrastructure in North Carolina and South Carolina. We will continue to see an influx of new residents, new companies and foreign direct investment in 2023 and beyond. Our collective efforts, energy and focus as an industry will propel us forward. While generally things look positive, challenges remain and it is incumbent upon each of us to make efforts to advance our industry.
During 2023 I encourage you to become more involved in improving and advancing our industry. Each of us have an obligation to invest in the future of our industry as those who came before us invested in us. This will require an investment of your time, talent and treasure. Consider speaking to a middle or high school group about careers in our industry, join a committee for one of our industry trade associations, contact a political official about issues related to construction, introduce the industry career opportunities to an underrepresented minority group, donate money, materials or tools to a non-profit, and be a champion for our industry.
We all have busy schedules, project requirements, and family commitments, but by being intentional, focused and committed, we can all advance this amazing industry that supports us and our families. I encourage you to let me or the GroundBreak Carolinas staff know about the things you or you organization are doing in the community and industry. Have a great 2023!
