ABC Carolinas Names Powell as President and CEO of ABC Carolinas
The Board of Directors for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas (ABC Carolinas) announced that Kristen Powell has been named the chapter’s new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Powell assumed her new role on Monday, April 17, 2023.
“Initially, Kristen was the obvious choice, but we went through a process to see what the market had to offer, and we talked to several candidates. In the end, Kristen was the best choice,” said Chris Moore, ABC Carolinas Chairman and President of CarolinaPower. “Her experience, knowledge, and passion for ABC is a valuable combination for the future of the chapter.”
Since joining ABC Carolinas in 2014, Powell has been a key leader of the chapter’s staff. She has served as Regional Membership Director, assisted with chapter operations, and led key chapter events such as the annual Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards and the Summer Construction Convention. Most recently, she served as Interim President and CEO.
“I am extremely grateful and appreciative of the opportunity to lead ABC Carolinas. I look forward to serving the members of ABC Carolinas while working beside our fantastic staff and to build on our current growth and success.” said Powell.
Powell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from Winthrop University.
