ABC of the Carolinas Presents Eagle Awards During National Legislative Conference
The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas presented members of Congress with the prestigious “Champion of the Merit Shop” Eagle Award. These awards are given to legislators with an 80 percent or better voting record on ABC’s key issues during the previous session of Congress. Awards were presented at the 2017 ABC National Legislative Conference in Washington.
This week, ABC of the Carolinas sent over 35 members to the District of Columbia to participate in two legislative briefings (NC/SC), ABC National’s Free Enterprise Alliance (FEA) reception, and a “Carolinas’ Legislative Breakfast” with U.S. Senator(s) Thom Tillis and Richard Burr.
“The Carolinas are fortunate to be represented by a number of members of Congress who are true champions of the Merit Shop Philosophy and the Free Enterprise system,” said Carolinas chapter President & CEO Doug Carlson. “Our Champions believe in open and fair competition and are supportive of small, family-owned businesses which make up the majority of our members” added Chris Bullard, Director of Government Affairs for the group.
