AIA Charlotte Invites Teams to Register for CANstruction 2023 to Benefit Second Harvest Food Bank

AIA Charlotte announces that CANstruction 2023 team registration is OPEN! CANstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design-build competition with a unique way to provide hunger relief assistance by collecting canned food for distribution to local food banks.

Competing teams showcase their talents by designing sculptures made entirely from canned foods. After the structures are built, the creations are displayed to the public as a giant art exhibition. Participants include teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers, and students attending schools of architecture, engineering, and design. At the close of the exhibitions, all the food used in the structures is donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.

The build day will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Camp North End in the Ford Building. The team registration fee is $150 and benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank.
