AIASC Recognizes Excellence in Architecture
The American Institute of Architects, South Carolina Chapter (AIASC) is pleased to announce the 2017 recipients of the annual AIASC Design and Chapter Awards, which encourages and recognizes design excellence throughout South Carolina, and promotes public awareness of the role architects play in shaping the quality of life in their communities. This year’s awards were presented in the Magnolia Ballroom at Hyatt Place in Charleston, SC on April 21, 2017.
Anne Marie Decker, FAIA, of Duvall Decker Architects in Jackson, MS, presented awards in the new construction/substantial renovation category. Robert Cain, FAIA, of Robert M. Cain Architect in Atlanta, GA, presented the Robert Mills Residential Design Award and awards in the interior architecture, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation categories.
In addition, the AIASC Board of Directors conferred the 2017 Firm Award, the highest honor bestowed on a South Carolina firm, which recognizes design excellence, contribution to the profession of architecture, and continuity of service to the public, to Frederick + Frederick Architects, a custom residential design firm in Beaufort, SC.
