Allen Amsler of McCrory Construction Offers First Quarter Perspective
How do you see the year unfolding for the construction industry in the Carolinas? What are you most excited about for 2022?
We have seen a steady increase in backlog revenues year over year. Some of that is inflated due to across-the-board price increases and it is hard to assess how much that factors in. There is still a lot of stress in the market with material shortages and related delays. I think we are all finding ways to work around those issues. We are optimistic that 2022 will be another good year for our industry. Inflation and rising interest rates will continue to be a concern as we move into 2023. We will see how much of an effect that has on our business in the months ahead. With COVID restrictions ending, I am looking forward to getting back to a normal course of business and social interaction.
