Call for Nominations: She Built this City’s Inaugural Change Makers Awards – Deadline Feb. 14, 2022
She Built This City (SBTC) is celebrating those in the Charlotte community who are working towards diversity, equity, and inclusion within their workplace or organization. The construction trades is a male-dominated space and SBTC wants to honor those women who are trying to change the game and bring equity into skilled trades.
Let us know who you think is helping to make these changes! Are they changing the work culture for women to feel more accepted in the workplace? Are they trying to bridge the gap for women and the marginalized community to have access to training and education? Or are they investing in the future of the trades, by sparking interest with our youth?

Change Makers: Nomination Criteria
- -Live/work in Charlotte Metro area
- -Reinforces policies, practices, attitudes, and/or actions that are intended to produce equitable outcomes for all.
- -Shown commitment to promoting diversification of gender, race, and identity within the workplace at all levels of the organization.
- -Is proactive in creating pro-woman work spaces and policies.
- -Invested in workforce development solutions and initiatives for youth to bridge the gap and create more on-ramps for marginalized communities.
Examples of deserving nominations are not limited to but may include someone who has created an innovative program, employee resource group, or expanded the reach of an existing program within their workplace or nonprofit organization. We encourage you to submit a nomination for someone who has made an equitable impact in the Charlotte area. Please provide any additional information to support your nomination including testimonials, data or metrics.
Awards Luncheon: March 8, 2022
The luncheon will be held on March 8th from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Silver Hammer Building of AvidXchange.
