CarolinaPower’s Edson Moo Publicly Recognized for Community Involvement
Named a Best Places to Work in South Carolina for two consecutive years, Carolina Power’s company culture centers around “the Power to Serve.” In August 2019, Edson Moo, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Manager, was publicly recognized at a Greenville Drive baseball game for his long-time service and dedication as youth soccer coach for Upstate South Carolina’s Carolina Elite Soccer Academy’s (CESA) recreation program. Moo had the honor of throwing out the first pitch.
CESA’s Leanna Blalock provided some background on why Edson was singled out for special recognition at Monday night’s Drive game. “Coach Edson Moo has unselfishly volunteered countless hours over the years to help develop players, both on and off the field, while instilling a deep passion for the game. He began coaching in the fall of 2016 and has coached anywhere from one to three teams each season since then. Coach Moo not only coaches his own children’s teams, he has also taken on additional teams, increasing his impact on our local soccer community. He has always gone above and beyond the call of duty and he is a great asset to CESA’s recreation program.”
Blalock went on to say, “Coach Moo is part of an amazing family with very generous hearts. We are lucky to have them be apart of our CESA program… and the kids he coaches are lucky to have him influence their lives!”
CarolinaPower President Chris Moore said, “This is well-deserved recognition for Edson, who like many other members of the CarolinaPower family, has a true servant’s heart. It was great to see him wearing a CarolinaPower ball cap as he threw out the first pitch with impeccable form. Way to go, Edson!”
