CarolinaPower’s Travis Oswald Promoted to Vice President
CarolinaPower, a leading employee-owned, regional electrical contractor with four offices in South Carolina, has promoted Greenville Branch Manager Travis Oswald to Vice President. Oswald will now oversee companywide Construction Services – Engineering, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), and Prefabrication – while still managing day-to-day operations of the Greenville office. Oswald has been with CarolinaPower for 19 years.
“One of the first things Travis will be focusing on in this new leadership role is the standardization of systems and processes within CarolinaPower. He will be working closely with our sister companies in the PPC family, including Georgia-based MetroPower, to leverage shared resources for the benefit of all. Taking our construction services to a new level and aligning processes and procedures across companies is a huge undertaking. If we are to be a leader in our industry, we need Travis to champion these efforts,” said Chris Moore, President of CarolinaPower.
Oswald’s association with construction and the skilled trades dates to his childhood in Travelers Rest, where his family operated a residential plumbing company founded by his grandfather. After being around high-end residential construction jobsites in his youth and working for a commercial electrical contractor during summer breaks in high school, he discovered his passion for the construction industry. Oswald is a 2005 graduate of Clemson University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He received his MBA, also from Clemson, 10 years later.
“I am excited to take on the challenges that will allow us to capitalize on the many growth opportunities for CarolinaPower. The future of construction is very intriguing. Those who do not adapt risk getting left behind. The best is yet to come,” said Oswald.
Oswald is a strong advocate for the ABC Carolinas Upstate Electrical Apprenticeship Program, for which CarolinaPower is a founding partner. He is a guest lecturer for Clemson’s Construction Science and Management (CSM) program within the Nieri Department of Construction, Planning and Development, and is an Advisory Board Committee member for AET (Architectural Engineering Technology) & CET (Construction Engineering Technology) at Greenville Technical College. His community involvement includes serving on the Advisory Board for the Greenville YMCA.
