Carolinas Construction Community to Come Together for Safety Week 2017
Each May construction firms across the Carolinas voluntarily participate in Safety Week — a national event created to raise awareness about jobsite safety. Safety Week 2017 is scheduled to run from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5. This year’s Safety Week is timed to align with OSHA’s 4th Annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction Week, which runs the following week from May 8-12.
The mission of Safety Week is to collectively promote the construction industry’s continuing commitment to eliminating worker injury, and to clearly communicate its dedication to a shared culture of care and concern and the belief that every week must be Safety Week. This year’s theme is “It’s in Our Hands – We are Stronger & Safer Together.”

Participants in Safety Week 2017 are encouraged to share their stories on social media, with the hashtag: #SafetyWeek.
What’s the Story Behind the Safety Week Logo?
When safety is woven throughout the industry — from every person and every task on every job — it ties us together. Not just to each other, but to everyone who loves and depends on us at home. We are stronger — and safer — when we are tied by the single, powerful, unifying commitment.
