CF Evans Honored with National NAWIC Award for Meeting Street Lofts in Charleston
At the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Annual Conference, Orangeburg, S.C.-based CF Evans Construction was honored with the inaugural NAWIC Builds Excellence Award for Excellence in Residential Construction. CF Evans took home the award for Meeting Street Lofts, 274-unit mixed use development on the peninsula of Charleston, built for Kane Realty/Federal Capital Partners, and designed by Cline Design.
NAWIC’s Annual Awards Program is dedicated to honoring the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them in the United States and Guam. Independent juries of industry leaders in design and construction judged the projects using seven criteria, including safety, innovation, and sustainability.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) was founded with the purpose of enhancing the success of women in the construction industry. The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas in 1953. Sixteen women came together, knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, and organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction.
