Choate Announces Three Executive Promotions
Choate Construction Company has strengthened its leadership team with the promotions of three outstanding leaders.
Tim Heichelbech, Executive Vice President of Operations
Tim Heichelbech has been named Executive Vice President of Operations for the firm at large. Formerly the Vice President & Division Manager of Choate Construction’s Charleston office, Heichelbech has leveraged his 33 years of industry experience to advance the operational performance of his teams and build authentic, collaborative relationships within Choate and the Charleston community. In his new position, Heichelbech will play a pivotal role within Choate’s corporate leadership team, championing the company’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence for its clients while further cultivating its strong, relationship-driven culture.
“Tim is best known for his ability to cultivate excellence in those around him through his humble passion to see people succeed, whether that be a teammate, trade partner, client, or friend,” says Matt Brewer, Choate President & CEO. “Combined with his dedication to advancing our operational strategies and driving the quality and innovation Choate is known for, I know Tim will usher Choate into a bright future.”
Heichelbech earned his bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from Purdue University, followed by his Master of Construction Science and Management from Clemson University. He is an active member in the Charleston community and the AEC industry throughout the Southeast, having served in a variety of organizations such as the Charleston Chamber of Commerce, Citadel Construction Engineering Advisory Board, Clemson CSM Executive Advisory Board (CAGC Representative), AHA Lowcountry Heart Walk Board, and more.
“I’m honored to step into this role and continue serving our people, partners, and our clients,” says Heichelbech. “Whether it’s through our strong relationships, developing creative operational solutions, or sending our teams home safe each day, I’m excited to help shape the next chapter of Choate’s success.”
Tim McIntosh, Division Manager
Previously serving as Choate Charleston’s Director of Operations, Tim McIntosh will step into the Charleston Division Manager role formerly held by Heichelbech. “A key driver of Charleston’s steady growth, Tim is known for his ability to build genuine relationships both inside and outside the organization,” says Brewer. “His infectious drive helps elevate Choate’s business and reputation, creating new opportunities for our clients and partners in the marketplace.”
Wielding 29 years of construction experience, McIntosh guides Choate’s clients through every phase of a project—from development to successful completion. His leadership and expertise will continue to strengthen Choate’s commitment to delivering exceptional results and lasting partnerships in his new role as Division Manager.
Kyle Spraberry, Director of Operations
Kyle Spraberry will take over Tim McIntosh’s role as Charleston’s Director of Operations, leveraging his 27 years of industry knowledge to continue inspiring teams and improve Choate’s operational efficiencies. Spraberry’s construction experience and success in the role of Project Executive have proven him to be a results-oriented leader, known for his depth of operational knowledge and ability to champion teams to achieve consistently high results. “His ‘people first’ leadership style and ability to build lasting partnerships throughout the industry will undoubtedly serve Choate well in his new role as Director of Operations,” says Brewer.
