David J. Miskovich Appointed Chief Executive Officer of ROSS Companies

by GroundBreak Staff on November 29, 2016

ROSS Companies, a leader in multifamily property management, acquisition and renovation in the Mid-Atlantic Region, today announced the appointment of David J. Miskovich as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Miskovich, who served as ROSS’s chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) over the last 13 years, is the first CEO in the company’s history.

Scott Ross will remain president of ROSS Development & Investment, and chairman and president of ROSS Renovation & Construction, and Beth Ross will continue as president of ROSS Management Services.

“David is an extremely talented, effective leader who has helped guide ROSS Companies through one of the most aggressive growth periods in its history over the last several years,” Scott Ross said. “While Beth and I will continue to maintain active roles in the companies, we have abundant confidence in what David’s expanded leadership role will achieve for the future of ROSS Companies.”

“We want to make sure that ROSS Companies is positioned to continue the success and high performance we’ve experienced since our founding in 1983,” Beth Ross said. “We engaged in an extremely thorough and deliberate process, assembling an outstanding group of leaders and implementing practices, such as shared decision making amongst our talented leadership team, to prepare for the future. With David now serving as our CEO, ROSS Companies remains strong and is poised for continued growth.”

Miskovich becomes CEO at a time when ROSS is expanding its geographic reach. Until recently, the company had focused exclusively on the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. In 2015, ROSS opened an office in Richmond, Va., where it now manages nine communities totaling more than 1,300 apartment homes. The company also has expanded into North and South Carolina, where it manages approximately 1,100 units and 315 units, respectively.

“I am deeply honored and tremendously excited to be named CEO of ROSS Companies,” Miskovich said. “Over the past three decades, under the leadership of founders Beth and Scott Ross, this company has established itself as the premier owner, operator and renovator of multifamily communities in the Mid-Atlantic region. Beth and Scott have assembled an incredibly hard-working team rich in multifamily expertise and experience, and I look forward to working with them to continue expanding upon their incredible success.”

Prior to joining ROSS in 2003, Miskovich was vice president of asset management and operations for Archstone-Smith. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting from George Mason University’s School of Management and is on the Advisory Council of the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington.
