Economic Development Partnership’s Jonathan Larry Named a “Young Professional 2 Follow” in Aiken, S.C.

by Joan Krause, GroundBreak Carolinas on July 23, 2018

Jonathan Larry, senior marketing and research director with the Economic Development Partnership (EDP) in Aiken, S.C., has been named one of the “Young Professionals 2 Follow” by the Aiken Standard. Last year, the now 26-year-old received the 2017 Aiken Chamber Young Professionals Rising Star Award.

“Jonathan is a true asset to our team,” said EDP President and CEO Will Williams. “We are very proud of him and know that he has a bright future ahead.”

Larry began interning at the EDP while he was a college student at the University of South Carolina Aiken. He joined the EDP full time upon graduation in May 2014. Larry graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

The EDP is a non-profit, public-private development corporation focused solely on serving the needs of new and existing businesses in the Aiken, Edgefield, and Saluda Region of South Carolina. “All of us at EDP are here to promote the region. We exist to serve as a resource…. to help bring jobs into the community as well as to assist existing industry. In my role, I get involved in a wide range of activities. My day can involve assisting with requests for information from companies considering locating here or providing data to a local business. No two days are ever the same. That’s what keeps it interesting.”

Larry is active on the boards of several organizations including: University of South Carolina Aiken School of Business Advisory Council; Leadership Aiken County; University of South Carolina Office of External Programs, Continuing Education, and Conferences; and Aiken Young Professionals.

Outside of work, Larry enjoys graphic designing, video producing and editing, and building websites. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start a media company that shares only positive content. The site, https://upliff.com/, will be launching soon.
