Chris Moore of CarolinaPower Offers Specialty Contractor Perspective on 2022

by GroundBreak Carolinas on February 5, 2022

What are your thoughts on the economy related to construction in the Carolinas in 2022?

From the perspective of a specialty contractor focused on electrical construction, right now opportunities are still abundant across all markets and all geographies. However, I am concerned about commodity pricing fluctuations and ongoing supply chain issues – particularly their impact on construction schedules. Toss in that we must continue to deal with COVID from both a regulatory and staffing standpoint… and the potential for negative impact on our business significantly increases. And, of course, the pre-existing workforce availability situation remains a major concern. All of this said, I am cautiously optimistic about 2022 despite the unpredictable nature of the world in which we operate.

Chris Moore, President, CarolinaPower

CarolinaPower is a leading regional electrical contractor serving industrial, commercial, healthcare and federal market sectors in South Carolina and North Carolina. CarolinaPower was established 23 years ago as part of Ga.-based MetroPower, Inc. Now a division of its own, CarolinaPower has a total of four offices in South Carolina with plans for opening additional offices in North Carolina. To learn more, visit www.carolinapower.com.
