First-ever New Bojangles’ Restaurant Concept to Debut in Greenville, S.C.

by GroundBreak Staff on January 9, 2017

Bojangles’ (NASDAQ: BOJA), the iconic restaurant famous for its hand-breaded, bone-in chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits and Legendary Iced Tea® steeped the old fashioned way, will premiere its innovative new restaurant design at a grand opening on Wednesday, January 11.

“This grand opening is just the beginning of what’s next for new and existing Bojangles’ locations,” said Randy Icard, vice president of construction and development for Bojangles’. “The new concept showcases our commitment to our guests’ experience and to operational excellence.”

Located at 2419 Laurens Road in Greenville, S.C., the new 3,900-square-foot restaurant boasts a variety of new features designed to enhance the customer experience and propel the 700-unit chain to its next level of success.

A distinctive, contemporary exterior combines sophisticated materials like brick, tile and steel canopies. When guests enter the new restaurant, they will be greeted by bold graphics that celebrate the brand’s heritage, such as “Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits” and “Made from Scratch Since 1977.” Guests will be captivated by a “Biscuit Theater” where they can witness biscuits being made fresh every 20 minutes by a Bojangles’ Master Biscuit Maker. Colored crocks replace steel warming trays to give the food display area a more inviting appearance, with increased use of glass adding to the visual appeal.

In addition to putting Bojangles’ fantastic food in the spotlight, the dining room has been enhanced with free Wi-Fi, multi-device charging stations, unique high-top community tables and a variety of interesting seating options to accommodate different-sized groups, including classic Adirondack chairs. New uniforms for all Bojangles’ team members complete the updated look. To view images of Bojangles’ new restaurant concept, click here.

On January 11 at 10 a.m., Bojangles’ Chief Operating Officer Kenny Avery will join Icard, other Bojangles’ representatives and a host of community and business leaders in cutting the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the store after a community celebration the night before complete with Bojangles’ food and prizes.

When the restaurant opens on the 11th at 5 a.m., the first 100 customers in line will receive a Bojangles’ prize pack including a $100 Bojangles’ gift card and commemorative T-shirt. Other exciting activities to mark the special day include a variety of free items with purchase, live radio remotes and kids’ meals for 99 cents.

Bojangles’ CEO Clifton Rutledge said, “Our new concept speaks to what our long-time fans love while drawing in an even broader range of consumers to enjoy Bojangles’ delicious, one-of-a-kind menu offerings.”

Company efforts are already underway to rebuild or remodel four existing Bojangles’ restaurants in the company’s hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina – Billy Graham Parkway near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport; South Tryon Street near Arrowood Road; Steele Creek Road near I-485 in southwest Charlotte; and the Historic West End location on West Trade Street, which has already been closed and is being rebuilt from the ground up. In keeping with the new concept, many of the design elements found in the prototype will be incorporated into these projects.
