FLS Energy Begins Construction on 96 Megawatts of Utility Scale Solar in N.C.
FLS Energy has closed financing and begun construction on 96 megawatts of utility-scale solar facilities across eight locations in North Carolina. The solar energy plants will produce approximately 144,689,000 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year or enough energy to power over 13,400 average U.S. homes.
The portfolio of projects is the first phase of approximately 225 megawatts of solar energy facilities FLS Energy will be building in 2016. “We are very excited to begin construction on this group of projects and closing this large a financial transaction represents a real milestone for FLS” said Dale Freudenberger, CEO of FLS Energy. “These projects are an example of the thriving North Carolina solar industry and how good policy can promote and create high paying, permanent jobs for our state.”
