Four from Carolinas among AIA’s 2024 Young Architect and Associates Award Winners
Of the 30 recipients of this year’s national AIA Young Architects Awards, three are from the Carolinas – Elissa Morrison, AIA, with Liollio Architecture in Charleston, S.C.; Andy Goolsby, AIA, of withArchitecutre, in Durham, N.C.; and Shawna Mabie, AIA, with Hanbury in Raleigh, N.C.

AIA Associates Award
Of the five recipients of the 2024 AIA Associates Award, one winner is from the Carolinas – Asa Santa Cruz, Assoc. AIA, with BDG Architects’ Charlotte office. The Associates Award is given to individual Associate AIA members to recognize outstanding leaders and creative thinkers for significant contributions to their communities and the architecture profession.
Asa Santa Cruz, Assoc. AIA – Few emerging professionals are as deeply engaged as Asa Santa Cruz, Assoc. AIA, whose leadership has profoundly impacted the pipeline for future architects. Since establishing herself in the profession, Santa Cruz’s has distinguished herself as a true citizen architect on the front line of diversifying the profession. The accomplishments Santa Cruz has already marked in her young career as a program manager in BDG Architects’ Charlotte office are only matched by her ceaseless volunteer efforts since joining AIA in 2016.
