Garman Homes Promotes Rebecca McAdoo to CEO and Jake Kaplan to CFO
Garman Homes, a North Carolina homebuilder specializing in the design and construction of communities, collections, quick move-in and pre-sale homes, has promoted Rebecca McAdoo to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Jake Kaplan to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Marking a pivotal moment for the nationally acclaimed homebuilder based in Morrisville, these seasoned, dynamic leaders are poised to propel Garman into a new era of continued growth, fueled by further expansion into the Triad market and an abiding commitment to operational excellence.
“As the Founders of Garman Homes, we find it tremendously rewarding at the end of our best year to date to announce the promotions of Rebecca McAdoo to CEO and Jake Kaplan to CFO. Both Rebecca and Jake have earned these promotions over the past several years by exemplifying world-class leadership and dedication to our long-term vision for Garman Homes, which promises relentless innovation and genuine connection,” said Jim Garman and Alaina Money-Garman. “These promotions usher in a new era for Garman Homes, celebrating the achievement of building twice as many homes as in previous years and operating in both the Triangle and Triad markets with capacity and opportunity to continue the trajectory.”
Leveraging their combined decades of experience, the duo brings a fresh wave of creativity and enthusiasm that will continue to define what it means to design and construct joyfully built, meaningfully different homes – setting new benchmarks for the industry:
Rebecca McAdoo, CEO: Since joining Garman in 2018 as Division President, McAdoo has transformed the company from a single-market builder to a sought-after, dual-market partner for North Carolina’s top developers. Named to Professional Builder’s 40 Under 40 list in 2018, she is known for her joyful leadership, high expectations and ability to foster a culture of accountability – all while embracing gratitude and laughter. McAdoo is a frequent contributor to the Urban Land Institute, has spoken at numerous industry events and recently joined the New Home Trends Institute’s Future Thinkers Council.
Jake Kaplan, CFO: Kaplan joined Garman in 2018 as the company’s first Fellow, where he was able to touch various disciplines of the business through the rotational program. His talents in financial analysis and project management quickly led him to become Controller, followed by Vice President of Finance – a role where he oversaw multiple key projects, including managing a new office build, developing two new websites and growing bank loan facilities to over $100 million. In 2022, he co-created Garman Academy, a professional development program that provides courses on a wide range of topics for Garman team members. Named to Professional Builder’s 40 Under 40 list in 2023, Kaplan has been an active leader in the new employee onboarding process and even volunteered to manage a Habitat for Humanity of Durham Builders Blitz project – a home constructed from start to finish in seven days.
As part of Garman’s next growth chapter, Julie Primanti will take on the role of Director of Lifestyle and Design to foster connections with homebuyers and homeowners – promoting Garman’s communities across the digital and social landscape and strengthening the customer experience through curated content and design recommendations.
Industry veteran Stacy Brown will continue to serve as Division President of Garman Homes, where she will oversee the builder’s development projects across the Triangle and Triad markets with a focus on expanding Garman’s unique brand and land pipeline within both regions.
