GeoCarolinas Conference Set for Early March in Charlotte
The Carolinas Chapter of the Geo-Institute is pleased to announce the second GeoCarolinas Conference. The event will take place March 4 and 5, 2019 at the UNC Charlotte Center City in Charlotte, N.C., and will include state-of-the art technical presentations by leaders in the field of geotechnical engineering, interaction with 24 industry leading exhibitors, as well as an evening reception overlooking Charlotte’s skyline. New to the conference this year will be a Student Poster Session that takes place prior to the reception. This session will feature ongoing research from NC State, Clemson University, UNC Charlotte, USC, NC A&T, and The Citadel.
Guest speakers for the conference include Rudy Bonaparte, Paul Mayne, Daniel Pradel, Amy Cerato, Lance Kitchens, John Turner, Erik Loehr, John Wolosick, Bob Gilbert, Ian Chaney, Kevin Franke and Steve Saye.

The event is organized by the Carolinas Chapter of the Geo-Institute Conference Committee. This group is comprised of industry leaders across the Southeast, including Ron Andrus of Clemson University, Duane Bents of Morris Shea, Billy Camp of S&ME, Jeffrey Coonse of Subsurface Construction, Jesse Jacobson of Bunnell Lammons Engineering, Daniel Mickney of Geoscience, Marc Plotkin of ECS, Inthuorn Sasanakul of University of South Carolina, and Matt Silveston of Insight Group.
The Geo-Institute (G-I) is a specialty membership organization focused on geo-professionals and the geo-industry. It is one of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) eight specialty Institutes.
