Gordian Adds New SMB Division
Gordian, a provider of facility and construction cost data, software and expertise, announced the appointment of James Cabral as General Manager for a newly formed division focused solely on the small and midsize business market.
“Hiring James to manage this new division is a continuation of our history addressing the specific needs of smaller organizations,” said William Pollak, CEO. “Small and midsize businesses make up the largest portion of the nation’s economy, and also a significant portion of our RSMeans data users. Gordian’s SMB division brings together various disciplines across our company to ensure our solutions continue to evolve and change as our customers’ business needs do.”
Small and midsize businesses also make up the majority of the construction industry. A recent Small Business Administration report identified 83% of the industry workforce is employed by the 600,000 small businesses in the construction field.
Cabral brings to Gordian deep knowledge and experience working with small and midsize businesses, most recently as Chief Sales Officer for Aberdeen Group and VP Sales and Service for Avention/ OneSource Information Services. His background encompasses the nuances of providing data, subscriptions and services for the SMB market.
“Gordian understands the specific resource constraints and challenges facing the SMB market, as well as how they are unique and not just smaller in scale to large organizations,” said Cabral. “We will continue to study the market from every angle to match our products, processes and services to their changing needs.”
The addition of Cabral will help Gordian continue to prioritize small and midsize organizations while focusing on the different challenges facing these businesses. With a priority of addressing the needs of long-time customers, Cabral’s initial focus will be to ensure Gordian’s product offerings and go-to-market programs meet the particular needs of the SMB market.
