GroundBreaker: Didi Caldwell, Global Location Strategies
People make the construction industry what it is today. GroundBreak Carolinas is excited to share the story of another member of the inaugural class of GroundBreakers – individuals who are shaping our industry in a variety of ways.
When leading companies look for expertise in finding a new site for a manufacturing facility or corporate office, many turn to Didi Caldwell. Based in Greenville, S.C., Caldwell is president of Global Location Strategies, a site selection firm.
For most of the last 20 years, Caldwell has dedicated herself to assisting corporations with their location strategy – where and how to deploy their assets around the world. She has worked on projects in a multitude of industries, but her expertise and passion are in large manufacturing and heavy industrial projects. Since 1998, she has worked on projects totaling more than $50 billion in investment in over 30 countries.
Currently, Caldwell serves as Board Chair of the Site Selector’s Guild, the only association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants. She is a frequent speaker and can be found on national news programs and quoted in national publications.
Caldwell is a graduate of both Clemson University, where she received her undergraduate in Architecture, and the University of South Carolina, where she received an International MBA from the Moore School of Business.
About GroundBreaker Awards – This annual GroundBreak Carolinas awards program was created in Fall 2018 to recognize people who are making a significant impact on the construction community in the Carolinas.
