Hill Electric’s Angela Gardner Honored with SC Women in Business Award

by GroundBreak Staff Report on October 14, 2020

Angela Gardner, Director of Business Development and Marketing for Hill Electric in Anderson, S.C., was recently announced as a recipient of the 2020 South Carolina Women in Business Awards for Construction Marketing, presented by Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly and Charleston Business Magazine.

Based on career achievements, contributions to their company, and community involvement, the prestigious award was created to recognize businesswomen for their efforts across South Carolina. Gardner is being honored with the award recognizing her work and service within the Construction industry in the October issues of these magazines.

Serving as Director of Business Development and Marketing for Hill Electric, Gardner’s passion for business development and growth stems from her background working with small businesses and startups. In her first position after college graduation — at her family’s architectural business, she quickly worked her way up the ranks from entry-level to President. Gardner’s experience also involves co-founder of an apparel company and project manager for a $2-million lake home.

In addition to her successes in her career, Gardner also enjoys giving back to her community. She serves on the CREW Upstate Professional Development Committee, Skilled Trades Alliance Board, and Golden Strip Trail Board; is a family coach at FAVOR Greenville, and a mentor; and is co-founder of the Upstate South Carolina Women Construction Forum.

“This is a great honor, not only for myself, but for my team at Hill Electric,” said Gardner. “Throughout my career, I have not only found a niche in this industry, but also one in working alongside and serving other businesswomen. To be recognized in such a way is not only an incredible honor, but it is validating to what I have always wanted to see — an environment where women can not only find their own way in the construction industry, but create a place where they can thrive and have their voices heard.”
