James M. Holmes Joins FMI Capital Advisors

by GroundBreak Carolinas on July 9, 2019

James M. Holmes has joined FMI Capital Advisors as a Managing Director and Head of the Chemicals Group.  He is based in FMI’s Denver, Colorado office. For more than 12 years, James has served mid-market chemicals companies by structuring and executing sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital markets, and other investment banking transactions. He has deep expertise and relationships in the specialty chemicals segment of the global chemicals industry, with considerable U.S. and cross-border transaction experience in construction chemicals, adhesives & sealants, coatings, resins & additives, air & water treatment, naturally-derived renewable chemistry, chemical distribution, and other specialty chemicals subsectors.

“We seek senior bankers who are technically strong with deep relationships and proven deal performance in our target sectors,” said Tim Huckaby, President of FMI Capital Advisors. “James is that banker in specialty chemicals.  If a mid-sized specialty chemicals company wants to explore an M&A or capital formation transaction, James is the banker to talk to.”

Prior to joining FMI Capital Advisors, James was with Houlihan Lokey in New York, where he focused on structuring and executing M&A transactions for mid-market Chemicals clients. Before joining Houlihan Lokey, James was a Vice President with PrinceRidge in New York, focusing on mid-market, full-service investment banking transactions for Chemicals clients. He began his career with KeyBanc Capital Markets in New York on the Chemicals team.

James earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and German with honors from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He holds the General Securities Representative license (Series 7) and Uniform Securities Agent license (Series 63) from FINRA and NASAA.
