JE Dunn Welcomes Keith B. Gabriel, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager for Carolinas

by Joan Krause on October 20, 2021

Charlotte, NC – October 15, 2021 – JE Dunn has announced the hiring of Keith B. Gabriel to the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion manager for the Carolinas based in its Charlotte office.

A native of Charlotte, Gabriel has worked in economic development for six years, specializing in strategic planning across diverse groups, including local economic developers, site consultants and architectural and engineering firms.

As the new diversity, equity, and inclusion manager, Gabriel will work directly with senior management to ensure that workplace, workforce, and marketplace initiatives are aligned with JE Dunn’s overall diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. Gabriel will have the responsibility of facilitating inclusive business practices for women and minorities on construction projects, implementing initiatives that promote a diverse, inclusive culture and participating in activities to attract diverse talent to JE Dunn.

“Keith is a game-changer for JE Dunn and our presence in the market,” said Richard Cerretti, vice president and division manager for the Carolinas. “He’s infectious from the moment you meet him and already making a huge impact on our work in the Carolinas.”

Gabriel graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He will graduate from UNC Chapel Hill Kenan Flagler Business School with a Master’s in Business Administration and Management in 2022. He is on the Board of Governors at the Virginia Military Institute as well as the Student Advisory Board at UNC Chapel Hill Kenan Flagler Business School. Gabriel is passionate about serving his community.

“I am humbled and thrilled to join the JE Dunn family. One of my favorite quotes by Oprah Winfrey is, ‘Leadership is about empathy. It is about having the ability to relate to and connect with people for the purpose of inspiring and empowering their lives.’ This quote is the epitome of how I would like to cultivate relationships in the communities that we serve and build.”

In his free time, Gabriel volunteers at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Virginia Military Institute, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Youth Public Speaking. He also enjoys reading books, listening to podcasts, and spending time with his family.
