Little Diversified Architectural Consulting Earns Just Label from Living Future

by GroundBreak Carolinas Staff on May 1, 2025

Charlotte-based Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, a national transdisciplinary design firm, has earned a Just 2.0 label from The International Living Future Institute (ILFI), showcasing the firm’s commitment to being a more transparent, equitable, and socially just organization. In addition to Charlotte, Little has offices in Durham, NC; Charleston, SC; McLean, VA; Orlando, FL; and Newport Beach, CA.

The Just program is a voluntary disclosure tool for organizations to elevate internal discussions, policies, and procedures and create a common language and measurement framework for social justice issues.

Carol Rickard-Brideau

“Becoming a Just organization reflects Little’s commitment to employee well-being, fostering a deeper sense of belonging, and engagement,” said Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Little Carolyn Rickard-Brideau, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP. “It helps us attract and retain top talent in the industry while strengthening our HR policies and practices, decision-making, and workplace culture—creating a more supportive, growth-oriented environment that fosters meaningful connection to our communities.”

Achieving a Just Label requires reporting on a range of organization- and employee-related indicators, including Diversity & Inclusion, Equity, Employee Health, Employee Benefits, Stewardship and Purchasing & Supply Chain. By reporting these indicators, Just provides a framework for organizations to meaningfully and transparently address social justice and equity from within.

Vickie Breemes

“Completing Just goes far beyond checking a few boxes,” said Vickie Breemes, CCS, LEED AP BD+C, LFA, WELL AP, Little’s National Director of Advanced Building Technologies. “This process has been a powerful opportunity for reflection, learning and growth. Articulating our intentions in writing clearly and transparently not only reinforces our internal commitment but also builds trust externally with our clients and partners.”

By becoming a Just organization, Little is helping set the standard by focusing the employee experience, championing ethical practices, and valuing transparency and impact tracking as integral to the firm’s success.
