Local Safety Stand-Downs Focus on “Slowing the Spread”

Contractors in the Carolinas joined industry peers nationwide in hosting COVID-19 jobsite safety stand-downs on April 23 as part of a regionally coordinated effort by ABC Carolinas. Individual employers brought their respective workforces together to review safe work practices and protocols, with the common goal of keeping workers safe and slowing the spread of the virus.

Landmark Construction of Charleston, S.C., posted this message on their Facebook page: “We joined ABC members across the country to reinforce the prevention practices that keep our workers safe and slow the spread. We are so amazed by everyone’s ability to adapt and follow all of the recommended guidelines. Thank you and keep up the hard work!”

“ABC Carolinas is proud to partner with our member companies in doing our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 and continue our efforts to educate the construction workforce on safe practices,” said Sara Breeggemann, ABC Carolinas director of workforce development.
