M. B. Kahn Expands Charleston Office

by GroundBreak Staff on April 17, 2017

Construction activity in Charleston, SC is near peak levels, and another construction firm has added to its capacity in the area. M. B. Kahn Construction Co., Inc. recently announced the expansion of its Charleston office.

“M. B. Kahn wanted an office where our local project managers and superintendents could work, but, more importantly, we wanted a permanent Charleston address to provide an anchor spot within the community, to better serve our existing clients, and to develop new relationships going forward,” said Scott Appleton, M.B. Kahn’s executive vice president. The company first opened it’s Charleston office in 2013, and has been building continuously in the Charleston area since the 1950’s.

“We’ve been around a long time and we’ve had many repeat clients over the years because of the quality of our work,” said Chris Pettit, vice president of pre-construction.  He pointed out that as the number, size, and complexity of their projects have increased, so has the company’s presence in the Holy City.

The company will extend their original space at 8 North Atlantic Wharf to encompass the second floor of the adjacent building at 148 ½ East Bay. The expansion will add 2,500 square feet and will be complete in May 2017.  Headquartered in Columbia, SC, and maintains nine offices throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.
