Mashburn Construction Celebrates Milestone
Mashburn Construction celebrated a significant milestone today as the company turned 40 years old.
In 1962, Harry Mashburn sat in class at NC State University and sketched out the logo that would represent the company for its first 40 years in business. To celebrate the anniversary, Mashburn updated the logo in January of this year—the new image aimed to modernize the logo while also incorporating graphical elements of the original design.
Four decades ago today, Harry founded the company with the idea of a more collaborative building process: “I wanted to provide professional services to clients rather than bid schoolhouses,” he told SC Biz News earlier this year. Mashburn’s tagline of Building with Integrity hints at the notion of involving the contractor early to avoid conflict & frustration on the client’s part.
Mr. Mashburn and three employees were soon working on the company’s first construction project—a retail space of approximately 4,000 square feet on Beltline Boulevard. Now with close to 80 employees, Mashburn provides superior service to clients in the Upstate, Midlands and Lowcountry of S.C., as well as parts of North Carolina and Georgia.
