Mashburn’s CEO Named One of South Carolina’s Most Influential People

by GroundBreak Staff Report on March 11, 2022

Columbia, S.C. — Paul Mashburn, Chief Executive Officer of Mashburn Construction, has been included on Columbia Business Monthly’s list of the 50 Most Influential for 2021. Each year the publication releases a list identifying the most influential people in the Midlands. The list is cultivated through a combination of staff research and community nominations and represent esteemed professionals with a passion for creating a positive impact on the communities they serve.

With more than three decades of construction experience, Paul Mashburn has been blessed with the opportunity to sit on many boards throughout South Carolina. He recently served as Chair for the Industry Liaison Committee of the Building Division Leadership of the Associated General Contractors of America, which works to establish close relationships with trade-related associations to advance the construction industry. He is also the Immediate Past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Industry Advisory Board for the Nieri Family Department of Construction Science and Management at Clemson University.

Mashburn grew up in Columbia, SC, and he and his family have lived in Mount Pleasant for the last 13 years. Throughout his younger years, he was always passionate about community involvement and carrying on the Mashburn name with dignity and pride. One of his early accomplishments was serving as one of the youngest to ever serve as president of the Columbia Rotary Club which was the largest in the state. Among other numerous leadership roles, Mashburn has also served as President of the Carolinas Associated General Contractors and Chairman of the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina.

Lee Mashburn, President of Mashburn Construction, says, “Paul and I began our involvement in the construction industry in our early teenage years. It’s been rewarding to witness my brother, Paul, always strive for greatness and do whatever it takes for the people of Mashburn. He is extremely deserving of this award.”

Mashburn Construction celebrated 45 years in business in 2021 and the firm continues to set its sights on sustainable growth, investing in its culture and putting its employees at the forefront of its strategic direction. The company maintains its four locations throughout the state, while always seeking high-quality talent to add to the “Mashburn family.”
