McCrory Awarded Construction for Major Expansion at The Crossings at Columbia
McCrory Construction announced it is constructing a 140,000-square-foot expansion at The Crossings at Columbia, a deluxe senior living community conveniently located in Northeast Columbia. The three-story addition will more than double the square footage of the existing assisted living and memory care facility on site, and will add an independent living component not previously offered. Construction is underway with completion scheduled for early 2018.
The new facility will feature 109 high-end apartments — 80 percent designed for independent living, with the rest evenly divided between assisted living and memory care. The new structure is designed to complement the architecture of the existing 87-unit building to which it will be connected. McCrory has planned construction activities to minimize disruption to current residents and staff.
The Crossings at Columbia represents McCrory’s fourth senior living community project in South Carolina for Virginia-based Smith/Packett, one of the nation’s premier senior housing developers. The Crossings at Columbia is operated Harmony Senior Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Smith/Packett that provides integrated senior services at over 150 senior health and residential facilities across the country.
