NAWIC-Columbia Announces Construction Kids Discovery & Awareness Day 2021
NAWIC-Columbia needs your help! We are looking for sponsors and exhibitors to showcase hands-on learning activities for kids of all ages. Whether you can donate items or volunteer your time, we need your help to make this event a success!
Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Lexington Technology Center Lexington, SC.
Construction Kids is an educational community event that will provide children with a hands-on opportunity to see and touch heavy machinery and meet the people who build and maintain our community. Attendees will be able to explore vehicles – a dump track, excavator and South Carolina’s own Be Pro Be Proud 18-wheeler with hands on simulators. This truck is great for parents and older children who want to test out their construction skills!
NAWIC strives to offer networking and educational opportunities to members, other women of the construction industry, and our community. Our hope is events like this will aide in supporting construction industry businesses by exposing students and parents to the multiple employment options available in the industry. These young students could be the solutions to closing the skills gap in our state and be the talent pool for the next generation of qualified employees.
