NAWIC-Columbia Installs 2019/2020 Board of Directors
Columbia, South Carolina — The National Association of Women in Construction’s Columbia, S.C. Chapter #113 installed its 2019/2020 board of directors on October 1, 2019. These individuals, who volunteer a significant amount of time and resources, provide leadership and vision that allows the Chapter to grow and succeed.
Linda Schilling of Walker White, a 43-year member of NAWIC, presided over the ceremony proclaiming that each board member will bring their “individual qualities to the board while being selfless and understanding the focus is on NAWIC’s mission.”
The following individuals were sworn in as the 2019/2020 NAWIC Columbia, S.C. Board of Directors:

“Our chapter has 54 years of history in the Midlands. That alone is a great accomplishment for women in the construction industry. With the continued dedication of our members and support from partners we continue to make an impact within our industry and community,” said Nichole Kopenhaver of McCrory Construction, NAWIC-Columbia’s incoming President.
The local chapter serves as a resource for the Midlands women in construction . Active involvement provides the opportunity to grow, learn, and network with other women who face the same challenges. NAWIC-Columbia meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month (excluding July and December). NAWIC’s core purpose is to enhance the success of Women in the Construction Industry by providing. Our goal is to provide education, networking and other resources to help women overcome the challenges of working in a predominately male dominated industry. What sets NAWIC apart are the members. Our members are from all stages of the construction industry from the early stages of design to fixtures sales and installation and from all levels of profession, field technicians to engineers and architects, and administrative professionals to chief financial officers. We give our members a comfortable environment to explore the industry and push them to reach beyond their comfort zone, creating strong professionals and building leaders in the industry.
