NC Governor Declares April Safe Digging Month

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper proclaimed April Safe Digging month, while celebrating 811 Call Before You Dig’s 10th Anniversary with representatives of the underground utility safety and damage prevention community.

“It is a pleasure to be here with you today proclaiming April Safe Digging Month and celebrating 811 Call Before You Dig,” said Governor Cooper.

“The Governor recognizing the importance of 811 and all stakeholder’s responsibility in the call before you dig process highlights the importance of underground utility safety and damage prevention,” said Allen Gray Carolinas AGC Utility Division. Director and Lobbyist. “With everyone working together in the spirit of shared responsibility, we help ensure public/workforce safety and the integrity of vital facilities before, during and after underground utility construction.”

All over North America April is being celebrated as safe digging month.  Joey Lagano sported the 811 10th anniversary logo on his Penzoil/Shell Car during the Texas Race and celebrations are being held from coast-to-coast.
