North Carolina Cities to Host Events for Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week
Cities across North Carolina will be participating in the 35th Annual National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week, set for October 3-7, 2017. Seven cities have a variety of special events planned for consecutive weeks — from late September through early November. The observance of a National MED Week was proclaimed by Ronald Reagan in 1982 to recognize the outstanding achievements of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and to honor those corporations and financial institutions that support minority business development.
North Carolina MED Week events kick off in Greensboro and Greenville the week of September 25. Durham will celebrate the week of October 6, followed by Charlotte the week of October 10th. Cape Fear’s activities are set for the week of October 19 with events in Jacksonville the week of October 23. The Raleigh/Capital area will wrap up the statewide observance the week of November 7 .
