October is Careers in Construction Month

by GroundBreak Carolinas Staff on October 9, 2025

Carolinas AGC (CAGC) is proud to celebrate Careers in Construction Month this October (2025). Careers in Construction Month (CICM) is a nationwide initiative dedicated to raising awareness about rewarding career paths in the construction industry. We are happy to announce that both North and South Carolina Governors have proclaimed October 2025 Careers in Construction Month. This month-long celebration highlights the many opportunities in the trades and underscores CAGC and CAGC Foundation’s commitment to developing a strong, skilled workforce across North and South Carolina. We invite students, job seekers, and community members to join us in celebrating Careers in Construction Month and explore all that the industry has to offer.

CAGC and CAGC Foundation play a leading role in workforce development through programs designed to prepare individuals for careers in construction while addressing the industry’s critical labor needs:

  • Construction Bootcamp: Short-term, hands-on training programs that equip participants with essential skills, certifications, and experience for entry-level construction roles.
  • Construction Business Academy (CBA): Focuses on developing business and leadership skills for small business owners and MWBE firms in construction.
  • Scholarships and Apprenticeships: Supports students pursuing trades education, allowing them to gain credentials while minimizing debt.
  • Employer Partnerships: Connects members’ companies with emerging talent for mentorship, jobsite tours, and direct hiring opportunities.
  • Young Leaders Program: Engages emerging professionals to volunteer, mentor, and advocate for careers in construction, creating a pipeline of future industry leaders.
  • Be Pro Be Proud Program: Engages middle and high school students across North  and South Carolina , introducing them to rewarding construction careers and highlighting the industry’s diverse opportunities.
  • K–5 Education & Lane the Loader™: Lane the Loader ™ program provides and distributes construction-themed books to young students in libraries, classrooms, and hospitals, sparking early interest in construction careers.

Get engaged with any of these opportunities available through Carolinas AGC.
