PLG Consulting and Strategic Development Group Announce Partnership

by GroundBreak Staff Report on November 11, 2020

Chicago, IL, November 11, 2020 – PLG Consulting of Chicago, IL and Strategic Development Group (SDG) of Columbia, SC today announced a strategic partnership that provides major industrial customers, transportation and logistics service providers, and other investors with a powerful slate of services for managing complex projects involving new capital investment and supply chain/logistics design and optimization. Terms of the partnership include joint integration of each team’s consulting expertise for small to large-scale projects where clients are making critical business investments in existing or greenfield locations that include supply chain and logistics strategies, entering new markets, and optimization of current operations.  Their combined work on projects, valued between $10 million and $1 billion, has enabled clients to maximize investments, mitigate risk, and improve their competitiveness.

Most recently, SDG and PLG Consulting partnered to help a major chemical company identify a site for a new fertilizer facility.  SDG and PLG conducted site evaluations, marine and rail layouts for multiple sites, and inbound and outbound supply chain analysis.  The team provided the client with an in-depth analysis of two of the finalist sites to support the executive-level final investment decision (FID).

Mark Williams, President of SDG states, “Our partnership with PLG will provide our clients with in-depth logistics analysis that will improve our site evaluation.  The logistics analysis that PLG provides allows us and our clients to make the most informed decisions and implement their projects successfully.”

“Particularly for industrial projects, combining the right site with optimized supply chain and logistics are key to success.  But beyond the service synergies, SDG is an ideal partner for PLG because both firms share the values of superior service and exceeding clients’ expectations in both strategy and execution,” says Graham Brisben, CEO of PLG Consulting.
