Poettker Construction Finishes Award-Winning Year

by GroundBreak Carolinas Staff on January 24, 2025

Poettker Construction, an award-winning, family-owned business with offices in North Carolina, Illinois and Missouri, completed 2024 with an impressive $404 million in revenue. Poettker’s Southeast team constructed 1.3 million square feet of new facilities and renovations in the areas of distribution and warehouse, federal and defense, and retail.

“I am proud of the Poettker team for all we accomplished in 2024, and we’re eternally grateful to our loyal clients who give us the pleasure of their business time and again,” said Keith Poettker, Chairman & CEO of Poettker Construction, who is based in Charlotte. “We endeavor to make 2025 an even greater success, as we continue to deliver on our promise to build quality relationships that build your quality projects.”

Within the Distribution & Warehouse sector, Poettker is closing out the construction of the 702,000-square-foot, multi-building Gaston Commerce Center logistics park in Gastonia, North Carolina, and the 472,000-square-foot Innovation Logistics Center in Salisbury, North Carolina, which features 162 load-bearing concrete tilt-up panels and 84 dock doors.

In the Federal & Defense sector, the Poettker team is nearing completion on the 119,000-square-foot six-bay Hunter Army Aircraft Maintenance Hangar for the USACE Savannah District.

Poettker’s longstanding relationship with Walmart expanded into the Southeast market, with four projects underway this year in North Carolina and South Carolina.

National, regional, and local organizations recognized the company’s ongoing commitment to safety and quality throughout the year. The Associated Builders and Contractors awarded Poettker the No. 102 spot on its Top Performers List, as well as the No. 3 Top Retail Contractor, No. 16 Top Military Contractor, No. 51 Top General Contractor, and a 2024 Accredited Quality Contractor.

Building Design + Construction recognized Poettker Construction as a 2024 Giants 400 firm, naming them the No. 107 Top Contractor in the country. Poettker also made strides in Engineering News-Record’s Top Contractors list, ranking within the top 100 contractors in the Southeast market.

Regionally, Poettker secured a spot as one of the Top 30 Largest General Contractor firms by the Charlotte Business Journal for the second consecutive year.

Over the course of 2024, Poettker Construction supported over 50 non-profit organizations through philanthropic partnerships, advocacy, fundraising, and volunteering initiatives. As a family-owned and operated business, Poettker Construction especially prioritizes supporting its local communities. The company held its first Southeast Charity Clay Shoot, which raised $56,000 for Dream On 3 Carolinas, a charity committed to making sports dreams a reality for children and young adults with life-altering conditions.
