Preview: CAGC’s 2017 Summer Summit in Myrtle Beach
The 5th Annual Carolinas AGC (CAGC) Summer Summit and Expo will be held this week at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes from Thursday, July 27 to Sunday, July 30. Conference organizers cite numerous reasons for attending — great educational sessions, special events that provide attendees quality networking, opportunities for suppliers to showcase their business or services, and the beach! The event is nearly sold out, but there is still time to register.
About the 2017 Summer Summit
Day sessions on Friday, July 28, and Saturday, July 29, are specifically designed for General Contractors, Specialty Contractors, and Suppliers within each division: Highway, Building, and Utility. After the breakout sessions on Saturday morning, registered attendees will unite to celebrate the CAGC Foundation Safety & Scholarship Winners, Top Young Leaders Award Ceremony, and a keynote address on “Accountability & Achievement” given by Sergeant Dakota Meyer, Medal of Honor Recipient, United States Marine Corps.
Other featured speakers include: NCDOT’s Mike Holder, Chief Engineer; Robert Lewis, Chief Operating Officer; Jim Trogdon, Secretary of Transportation; and Christy Hall, Secretary of Transportation. Speakers from South Carolina include SCDOT’s Leland Colvin, PE, Deputy Secretary for Engineering, and Joseph C. Von Nessen, Ph.D., Research Economist, Moore School of Business – University of South Carolina.
Each afternoon, attendees will have plenty of time to relax at the beach or explore the area. Later, attendees can enjoy free evenings mixed with organized special events that allow ample time to network and build new relationships with others.
About the Expo
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet suppliers that offer exactly what they need. This major event will bring together close to 600 Highway, Building, Utility, Specialty Contractors, and Supplier Service companies who do business in North and South Carolina.

Featured Events
The highlight of the Saturday evening will be the CAGC Hall of Fame Awards Reception and Dinner, featuring Legacy recipients and inaugural Hall of Fame Inductees. On Friday evening there will be a Young Leaders reception honoring the best and the brightest 40 years old and under.
