Preview: CAGC’s 2018 Summer Summit in Jekyll Island
The 6th Annual Carolinas AGC (CAGC) Summer Summit and Expo will be held at the Westin Resort on Jekyll Island, Ga. from Thursday, July 26 to Sunday, July 29, 2018. Conference organizers cite numerous reasons for attending — great educational sessions, special events that provide attendees quality networking, opportunities for suppliers to showcase their business or services, and the beach. The event is nearly sold out, but there is still time to register.
About the 2018 Summer Summit
Day sessions on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28, are specifically designed for General Contractors, Specialty Contractors, and Suppliers within each division: Highway, Building, and Utility. After the breakout sessions on Saturday morning, registered attendees will unite to celebrate the CAGC Foundation Safety & Scholarship Winners, Top Young Leaders Award Ceremony, and a keynote address on “Resilient Leadership: Prepare Today to Prevail Tomorrow” Lt. General Russel L. Honoré, USA (Ret.)
Just a few of the division speakers include: NCDOT’s Ron Hancock, Chief Engineer and Robert Lewis, Chief Operating Officer. Speakers from South Carolina include Christy Hall, Secretary of Transportation, Leland Colvin, PE, Deputy Secretary for Engineering, and Claude Ipock, Director of Construction.
Each afternoon, attendees will have plenty of time to relax at the beach or explore the area. Later, attendees can enjoy free evenings mixed with organized special events that allow ample time to network and build new relationships with others.
About the Expo
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet suppliers that offer exactly what they need. This major event will bring together close to 600 highway, building, utility, specialty contractors, and supplier service companies who do business in North and South Carolina.

Thursday, July 26: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Friday, July 27: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m.
Saturday, July 28 – 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Featured Events
On Thursday, the Summit begins with a welcome reception that includes a LIVE Auction all to benefit the Carolinas AGC initiative program, Build Your Career. On Friday evening there will be a Young Leader reception and a New Member/New Attendee reception. After the attendees enjoy dinner on their own, they will put on their dancing shoes for our first Summer Summit Bash!
The highlight of the Saturday evening will be the CAGC Hall of Fame Awards Reception and Dinner, featuring a Legacy recipient and five Hall of Fame inductees.
