2021 Virtual “Power UP: It’s a Mother-Daughter Thing”

by GroundBreak Staff Report on February 15, 2021

Power UP is celebrating six years of introducing young women to the unlimited career paths offered by the construction industry. Power UP’s founder Dr. Mittie Cannon has always wanted to expand the non-profit’s flagship event, Power UP: It’s a Mother-Daughter Thing, beyond Birmingham, Alabama. With the event being virtual this year, people from across the Carolinians can now easily participate in what has proven to be life-changing for so many young ladies.

“We want to encourage 6th-12th grade girls and their mothers from all over the world to participate this year. Because the event is virtual, we can expand the number of mother/daughter teams, so please consider joining us,” said Dr. Cannon.

Follow Power UP on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram… and spread the word!

Registration is open: Click here to register for this Zoom event.

Tuesday, March 9, 2021
Event Time: 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm CST | 7 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. EST

New Features for 2021

Construction scavenger hunts as a pre-event activity. During February, there will be two winners each week. Winners will be announced on March 9. See top flyer below.

Sponsors, supporters, educational institutions, and others: Deadline February 15, 2021. We hope you will consider doing a demo on tools, etc., promoting your company or organization, or just giving a shout-out to the mothers/daughters.
