S. Tipton Studio Opens New Office in Raleigh

by GroundBreak Carolinas Staff on May 14, 2025

Leading interior design firm establishes presence in the Southeast

 S. Tipton Studio, an Austin, Texas-based interior design studio specializing in workplaces, medical offices and wellness spaces, industrial projects, and landlord services, is launching a new office location in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Founded in 2009, S. Tipton Studio is an award-winning design studio with 17 employees. As a collaborative team, the studio has created impactful spaces for clients like Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Curative Labs, Everlywell, and Hippo Insurance.

The move comes as Raleigh continues to experience significant economic and population growth, positioning it as an ideal location for businesses seeking brand-driven interior design solutions.

As part of the renowned Research Triangle, alongside Durham and Chapel Hill, Raleigh offers access to an innovative ecosystem fueled by major institutions, including North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Duke University. With the city’s population approaching 500,000 and the metropolitan area exceeding 1.6 million residents, this expansion represents a strategic advancement for S. Tipton Studio.

“The region’s demand for commercial real estate and medical office space is surging, driven by the continued population growth and Raleigh’s strategic location near major transit corridors. This market momentum has also spurred development in industrial warehouses, distribution centers and advanced manufacturing facilities,” said Mason Waldo, Director of Commercial Interiors at S. Tipton Studio. “We want to offer Raleigh’s business leaders and healthcare providers our skillset of examining their goals and brand with curiosity and applying their vision to develop elevated, unique design solutions.”

S. Tipton Studio’s new Raleigh office location will serve as an East Coast hub for the firm’s diverse portfolio of work, including its growing roster of Marvell Technology projects. The firm’s Raleigh team will offer comprehensive services, including programming, test fit planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, furniture/art services and construction administration. The firm will also increase its focus on higher education design.

“As a full-service interior design studio, we offer our clients support from strategy to completion,” said S. Tipton Studio Principal Sandy Tipton. “Our unique programming and preliminary pricing exercises bring clarity early in the leasing process, ensuring well-informed decisions before commitments are made.”

The S. Tipton Studio design team fuses innovative creativity with purposeful functionality, delivering high-impact spaces on time, on budget, and with uncompromising quality. By anticipating challenges and prioritizing collaboration, the studio consistently exceeds client expectations, ensuring that every project is a rewarding experience.
